I am an excellence chair at Laboratoire d'Astrophysique de Marseille.

I am the PI of the Deep Dark Forest project funded jointly by A*MIDEX (under the Etoiles Montantes programme and providing my research chair) and l'Agence Nationale de la Research (under the @RAction programme).

The common thread to my research is the diffuse gas between galaxies on the larest scales: the intergalactic medium. This gas represents the majority of `normal' matter in the universe. I am interested in this gas for what it tells us about galaxy formation, for its use as a cosmological probe and for itself.

I am particularly interested in massive spectroscopic surveys can provide toward these goals. I am a member the Lyman alpha forest team of the, now complete, BOSS/SDSS-III survey. This has been succeeded by the eBOSS/SDSS-IV .

Further to the future I am the QSO survey lead for
WEAVE (set to begin in 2018) and Quasar absorption cosmology co-chair for DESI (set to begin at the start of 2020).
